The Freshi n Safi (Fresh and Clean) Entrepreneurs
The President of Clean Conscience Canada, Amanda Schofield, became aware of the entrepreneurial training
program in East Africa. There were many women who were eager to start
businesses following their entrepreneurial training. Clean
Conscience cleaning products presented ideal business opportunities for the
women in Tanzania. The businesses involve minimal start- up costs, no specific
skill/education requirements and high profit margins. In addition to this, the
demand is high with great growth potential (restaurants, public buildings,
hotels, etc.) thereby creating sustainable ventures. Amanda, travelled to
Tanzania and spent a month sourcing out product ingredients from Tanga and
Nairobi and providing the training, capital and start up requirements to launch
10 micro-businesses – branded Freshi n Safi (Fresh and Clean).
